Does anyone know a book or preferably web source for danish singles and album charts f0r 1986-1995?? Especially the late 80s ones would be greatly appreciated...
I wonder if there is a change to have the danish charts period 1975-2000.I've searched on the net and there is nothing to foundCan anybody help me.Thanks.

For the Danish chart fans.If you go to 'P3-TJEKLISTEN'than you have the Danish charts,top 20 weekly from 1994 until now.I've checked it and i must say,it seems very good and trustful.Maybe that's something for a start.If you go to 'HITSURF DK' en goes to 'WEBMASTER TOP 20' than you have a look from August 1983 t'ill now,but i must say that's a personal list from someone,but it indicated some positions of the DK charts of that period.
@ Nathan.I think you are also intressed in the European charts.So am i.It's very difficult to find the charts from Danemark before 1994,Spain before 1987 and France before 1985.But i keep searchin,and maybe some day...

I'm writing an article on the history of the song Down by the Riverside etc., and I'm especially interested in the old 78rpm 45, EP and LP recordings of the song including all Gospel recordings of the song.
That site that has the top20 danish charts from 1994 to 2008 doesnt seem to be official. The charts of 2001 til now are different than the official danish charts.

To Ibleo,you're right about P3-Tjeklisten and hitsurk-dk webmasters top 20 being not the official charts. But looking at the P3-tjeklisten,i think that some songs are quit simular to the official chart,and because of not having that official information is this list a good alternative. Anyway,im still searching for Danish archives period 70's,80's and 90's.

The first Danish hitlist goes back to 1956. Untill 1963 there was only several monthly lists in the big newspapers. From 1963 till 1977 danish broadcasting corporation had several hit lists. They had a Top 20 based on sale that was brought from 1973 til 1977 with a break 1964-66. In 1968 they added with hit list for Danish lyrics only, Dansktoppen. In 1972 a third list, Tipparden was lauched. In 1977 they were all closed down due to a principal decision. Both during and after 1963-77 the tabloid magazine B.T. kept on bringing their own list. That's about it when it comes to the old days.

Intersting to see so many researchers. Having lived in Denmark most of my life i think i can safely say that there has NOT BEEN AN OFFICIAL CHART BASED ON SALES FOR A CONTINUENT PERIOD BEFORE 2001.
Charts have been manifold although rare between 1975 and mid 80s. Charts were frowned upon by the rock culture due to the commercialism of the old sixties charts called DANSKTOPPEN. A radio chart that was abandoned for a lengthy period. Different music franchises made their own sale charts available in shops . TJEKLISTEN from the mid 90s was an attempt by the national broadcasting company to make a chart based on votes. In opposition to this was a list for young listeners interested in alternative music called "DET ELEKTRISKE BAROMETER- also based on votes.
As a result charts for records has never been an integral part of pop culture in Denmark -like the TOTP culture in UK.
And now Iread HEnrik smiths comment! Sorry. So there is a sales list as I understand from 1963-64 and 66-77? For singles and albums? As for the 80s the tv programme ELDORADO made a list as well that should be mentioned. This programme was inspired by "TOP of the POPS" Anyway The man to ask is Jørgen De Mylius ....
On the new site danskehitlister.dk you'll find Danish Charts from 1963-1977. The site is only in Danish, but still it should be possible to navigate.
As to the Danish Chart history, there actually was an official monthly chart from 1965 forth brought in several magazines. The yearly charts on danskehitlister.dk (Årets Top 20) are based on those charts, but beside that all other charts on the site are Radio Charts. We'll hope to upgrade the site in time, but it depends on wether we can raise money or not. So to all you chart loving billionaires, just send me a mail:-)
Guys, please clarify if there was an official chart in Denmark during the 1980's? Or there was a gap in 1977-1994? I know that Billboard used to print Danish Top 10 courtesy of BT+IFPI in the early 80's - was that the official chart?

Hi, does anybody explain, what has changed with the danish singles charts in November 2007, when Trine Dyrholm after 62 weeks on No.1 has completely fallen out of the charts.
Staying so long on top is a ridiculous feat itself but why deposing such a popular track from the list?
You might be looking for Sir Henry & His Butlers "Let's Go" which was a number one hit in the monthly charts in DK in the winter of 1964-65. It also went to number 7 in Sweden. You can find several videos on You Tube and some info on Wiki as well. Good luck
