It's another tale of coping with heartache after a relationship breakdown and it's what he does best. Dean's voice sells this theme very well and the way the line of the chorus I quoted above rambles on adds a real sense of desperation and soul-baring that's so effective, which holds through the remainder of the chorus. The pre-chorus also achieves this in a similar way, and it's these moments which really make this track work.
