My initial concern with this was that I thought the remastered audio would wreck it for me. It's the sort of thing that when I've heard the songs so many times, any slight difference becomes very noticeable and makes the whole thing unlistenable. However, possibly because of my sub-standard headphones, I didn't notice much of difference, some songs sounded a little better actually.<br><br>However the important thing is that this and The Weeknd are amazing. Having spent the last year and a bit loving the mixtapes, it's quite nice to see them finally seeing commercial release. From the boldness of House of Balloons, the experimentation of Thursday, and the gloom of Echoes of Silence, it's just a thoroughly enjoyable listening experience. The additional tracks, while not amazing, are solid enough additions. It's not exactly fair, but this is clearly my favourite release of 2012. |
